Mission Trip - Twin Cities, MN (High School)

Dates: June 17-23 (Sunday-Saturday)
Destination: Twin Cities (Minneapolis & St. Paul), Minnesota
Grades: High School Students (Fall 2012) and Class 2012 Grads
Cost: $250 ($100 deposit)

Purpose/Goal
This trip is one part mission and one part pilgrimage.

We will depart with a mission/goal to work hard, serve Jesus, and help bring the gospel to the Twin Cities (Minneapolis & St. Paul, MN) through supporting their own local churches, ministries, and Christ-centered organizations.

But this trip is also a pilgrimage—to see the world in a new light, broaden our love for our own city (KC), push/challenge on our comfort zones, and encounter our amazing God with a week of experiences in another city.

These two goals will happen in the company of your peers and a great team of adult leaders. New friendships will rise up, and we will all come back changed by the power of God the Holy Spirit.

Lodging
We will be staying at a local church in the Twin Cities area—sleeping bags and air mattresses on the floor.

Travel
We will be renting and driving 10-12 passenger vans for the drive to the Twin Cities, MN (about 9 hours with stops) and daily transport around the city.  We will be asking students and adult youth workers to pack light and compact.

• Departure: Sunday Afternoon (June 17)
• Return: Saturday Night (July 23)

Cost
$250 covers all the costs for the trip—food, lodging, supplies, transportation, staff, etc.  Students are encouraged to bring some spending money—not to exceed $100 in cash.

Adult Leadership
We have a great team of adult youth workers who are eager to work
with and along-side our students.  All adults have been certified through our United Methodist “Safe and Sacred” program and approved by church staff.
